Dakota Fanning Is Just A Regular Kid

Despite working with some of the most powerful actors in Hollywood, Dakota Fanning insists that she is still a regular kid.

The 12-year-old star of films such as "I Am Sam" with Sean Penn and "Man On Fire" is currently doing publicity for her latest effort "Charlotte's Web," based on the classic novel and featuring Julia Roberts.

Fanning, however, says that her movie star life does not rule her regular life.

She told the Australian press, "I can do acting as well and still be a normal kid."

The pint-sized blonde continued to explain her love of acting, saying, "I play with my sister and play on the computer and have TV shows that I like. It's the same thing as everybody else, except I like to do movies. My passion is movies like someone else here [in Australia], their passion might be cricket."

In the film, Fanning plays a sweet natured girl, Fern, who befriends a helpless pig on her father's farm.

She explains, "Fern is just interested in her pig and going to the barn and spending time with the other animals. She's not really interested in her human friends. She's a loyal friend to Wilbur and makes a promise to him that she's going to take care of him."

The young movie star says she is eager to grow up as she is looking forward to the acting opportunities that will come her way, "I know as I get older, I will be able to do different roles ... I will be able to do more things. It is still exciting to do what I love and the roles will grow with me."

"Charlotte's Web" opens nationwide on December 20.
