Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox are still just 'friends' despite creating some heat by kissing in an episode of "Dirt."

The former co-stars and real life best friends are joining forces again in an episode of Cox's new tabloid-based show.

Fans became excited when they learned that the pair would be sharing an onscreen kiss. However, both stars have shot down any hype that the scene is steamy.

Speaking with "Access Hollywood," Cox said, "I am not saying don't tune in to watch Jennifer on the show, because she is fantastic and you get to see us together again but if you think it is just about a major make-out session, you will be disappointed."

The pals, who met on the successful "Friends" sitcom and have remained close, with Aniston even acting as Cox's daughter's Godmother, simply had a goodbye kiss in the episode.

Of kissing her buddy, the "Scream" star said, "It is really not a big deal."

However, one person who did enjoy the hook-up is Cox's husband David Arquette. He told National Enquirer magazine, "I don't want to see her with other guys, but when she had to kiss Jen - that's different. It was a hoot!"

The actresses are back together again after venturing into new careers following the end of their TV days. While Aniston is enjoying big screen success, Cox is remaining on the small screen.

However, according to Cox, teaming up again was fun despite the nerves of her current co-workers.

She said, "When she first arrived everyone was really quiet. It was like they were giving her respect and I was like, 'This is my bud Jen. Come on people, let's have some fun.' And by day two everyone was more loose, and by day three we were having a ball. Let me tell you, that girl cuts up just as much as the rest of us. She is very fun and she's goofy and she is just a doll. She is a great fun person with a great sense of humor."

The onscreen kiss is not the first time the girls have been approached to take their friendship to the next level.

Cox revealed that while filming the hit sitcom, one crew member bribed them to kiss.

She said, "Our first (assistant director) on 'Friends' wanted us to. In order for us to get a later call time, (the assistant director) dared us to kiss once and we thought about it. For the whole year we would get a later call time. We didn't do it, no."

Aniston, however, has locked lips with another woman on screen before. While playing Rachel Green she shared a kiss with guest star Winona Ryder.
