Courteney Cox has asked her celebrity friends to help her raise $1 million for charity in just two weeks.

The actress and her husband David Arquette want to raise as much money as possible for the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation as the child of one of Courteney''s pals suffers from the skin condition.

She said: "Now is such an important time to put the spotlight on EB and ensure that research can continue at a fast pace."

"EB is very personal to me so I'm happy to be a part of this $1 million challenge."

Courteney's former 'Friends' co-star Jennifer Aniston has already pledged to help, along with Orlando Bloom, Kate Beckinsale, Eva Longoria Parker and James Marsden.

Courteney and David - who have a three-year-old daughter Coco - are on the honorary advisory board of the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.

Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a genetic condition which causes internal organs to blister and the skin to ulcerate and disintegrate at the touch. Burn-like sores can cover sufferers and these do not heal.
