March 23 marks the end of Miss USA's reign and Tara Conner needs to find a job.
Now that she has completed rehab, is sober and soon-to-be unemployed, the beauty queen is looking at some bright lights (that don't include a bar).
Conner is currently training and rehearsing for a possible Broadway debut in Chicago.
Talking to Herald-Leader, Conner confirmed that a starring role as Roxie Hart, the part that got Renee Zellweger nominated for an Academy Award, is a possibility.
She said, "I have been talking with the people at Chicago, so, you know, I've been working with them a little. I'm not sure when this is going to take place, or if, but it's a possibility that it could. I'm not sure yet."
However, according to the New York Post newspaper, Conner should not get her hopes up...or refrain from submitted job applications.
A source told the publication that Miss USA is not exactly up to Broadway standard and the producers are not going to pull through with a deal.
The insider said, "She's like a cheerleader trying out for the high-school play. She's a total amateur."
Another source gave her a scathing review before she has performed for the public, saying that connecting the star to the show could be damaging. The source said, "It's too valuable to play around with as a publicity stunt."
Producer Barry Weissler has not yet completely ruled her out of the production. However, he has told The Post that if she can't do the job, she won't get it.
Weissler said, "Assuming both sides are comfortable, then this will be a win-win for both sides. We look forward to making a positive announcement soon."
Conner has had a controversial reign as Miss USA. Underage drinking and explicit photos on the Internet led to a Donald Trump-ordered stay in rehab.
