Colin Farrell has urged people not to feel sorry for him because of his troubled life. The 32-year-old actor - who recently revealed he has recovered from his alcohol and drug addictions - feels uncomfortable when he is pitied.

He said: "Don't feel sorry for me. I mean, at the end of the day, the smallest violin wouldn't or shouldn't play for me because I had a lot of fun and a lot of good times."

"I hate to go on about it but I was just lucky enough with support from various people find a way out. I'm very grateful."

Colin also revealed his life has completely changed since he stopped relying on drink and illegal substances.

He added to U.S. TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: "It has been a massive life change for me - someone who was drunk for 15 years, high for a good few as well. I just cut that out of my life."

"It took a while. It's not a very comfortable place to be in after you've been out of your mind for a good while."
