It seems like Clay Aiken hasn't started the holiday season on a high note - literally. For all we know, Kelly Ripa may have put a curse on the singer after he shut her up during a live taping of her morning show with Regis.

Clay didn't have it all together on Saturday when he was performing before a live audience in Illinois. The former "American Idol" finalist kicked off his Christmas tour, hoping to leave everybody speechless with his amazing voice; however, his vocal chords weren't budging and called it a break halfway through one of his songs.

According to DListed.com, Clay was singing a beautiful Christmas song entitled "All Is Well" when his voice cracked as he struggled to hit a high note. Suddenly, all was not well... all was well-eeeehhh-eehhh-eehhh. Poor Clay tried to shrug it off but caused even more damage when he repeated the same mistake a few seconds later with a hilarious, screeching sound.

The crowd laughed but also praised Clay for his efforts. As the song came to an end, the singer quickly took a bow and made his way off the stage, so not to suffer any further embarrassment.

So, Now that he 'nailed' the song on his second night of touring, is any columnist going to be classy enough to report that ?
I had never heard the song before Friday (not Saturday)nights performance, and as he was singing it, I thought that it seemed to be a very difficult song to do.
I give Clay kudos, and a huge amount of respect, for coming back on Saturday night,(Merriville,Indiana), and giving it a try again. He blew it out of the ballpark.
Luckily, we have a man who can laugh at his own mistakes, and screw ups, and still come back on the stage, to give, and give of himself. Even at the risk of knowing every move he makes will be ridiculed, in the media.
Knowing that every little cheesy, negative ridden ,web reporters ,are going to pick up on his screw up, and run with it.
I'm sure there will be another night or two that it will be difficult for Clay to get through that song. I've never seen any musical artist try to do a song so varied in range, and it would be a difficult one, for any artist to hit right on, night after night. Especially doing 18 concerts, in 22 days, as Mr.Aiken is doing.
Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but please check your facts before you write that Mr. Aiken has NEVER admitted or denied his sexuality. He has done it in Rolling Stone magazine, and several times after that. He has denied he is Gay, and it is in print.
Most writers just choose to ignore what he said, and go with their own assumptions. As Clay says, You're going to believe what you want to, Here's to NOT CARING what you think.

How many musical artists in Hollywood, would return the next night and attempt that song again??
They would be demanding a song change, to save face. Or slip in a pre-recorded version, and lip synch it for the rest of their tour.
Give Clay some credit, where credit is due. Or is that not a part of your 'character'.?

I was at the show, and it was worth every penny. He is very talented and his voice is amazing and so powerful. Ditto on the previous two comments, and I can't wait to see him next time he is in concert here.
