Kevin Costner is terrified his children will catch swine flu.

The 54-year-old actor - who is currently touring Germany with his country band Kevin Costner and Modern West - has banned his family from travelling with him to keep them safe from the potentially fatal virus.

Kevin Costner was hospitalized this week. The 53-year-old actor was rushed to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after he began to feel unwell while driving to a meeting.

His spokesman Arnold Robinson said: "Kevin was driving in the Hollywood area on Tuesday morning when he began to feel light-headed. He called 911 and they kept him overnight in the hospital."

Kevin Costner is expecting his second child with wife Christine Baumgartner. The 53-year-old actor, who already has 17-month old son Cayden Wyatt with Christine, is thrilled to be welcoming another child into the family.

The star's representative has confirmed the pregnancy, and a friend of the couple said: "Kevin and Christine are ecstatic. They feel so incredibly blessed right now as everything in their life is perfect."

Kevin Costner fears he will not live long enough to see his baby son grow up. The 52-year-old actor, whose wife Christine Baumgartner gave birth to Cayden Wyatt Costner last month, worries he'll die before his son becomes a man.

He said: "My fundamental fear is that I will die and someone else will have to raise my new baby. I fear I won't get to coach him in terms of what it is to be a man."
