Back To Basics singer Christina Aguilera shows off her baby bump in the January issue of Marie Claire magazine.
Following the footsteps of Demi Moore and fellow former Mouseketeer Britney Spears, the soon-to-be-mom poses on the cover with nothing but a cropped jacket, proudly displaying her pregnancy which she kept hidden before.
"We were planning on starting to try after the tour," the pop star says of her surprise pregnancy. "And so, I had gone off the pill to prepare my body, because I didn't know how much time it would take. You've heard it takes some time - except with Power Egg and Super Sperm here... I'm like, "Oh my God, can you believe it just happened?"
Her pregnancy has posed small problems during the tour. She had a month left and each show consisted of a lot of costume changes and that includes really high heels, hanging from a pinwheel and riding a carousel.
"I was paranoid. There are so many things that could go wrong - somebody could slip, somebody could fall, I could fall. There was no way in hell I was going to jeopardize my baby for my show."
To not make the audience uncomfortable, she wore a discreet heart monitor and she didn't announce the news "Like, 'Pregnant lady onstage! Is she going to be OK?"
Aguilera began dating music marketing executive Jordan Bratman in 2002 and married 2005. Her pregnancy is their first child.
