Chris Brown is "totally paranoid" after receiving death threats. The 20-year-old singer - who has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his on/off girlfriend Rihanna in February - has employed increased security amid concerns he could be attacked at any moment.

The Chicago Sun-Times newspaper reports: "It seems the music star has been targeted with death threats the authorities believe are actually legit."

Rihanna will be called to testify against on/off boyfriend Chris Brown. The "Umbrella" singer - who was allegedly attacked by Chris in February - is to appear in court on June 22 when it will be decided whether there is adequate evidence to take the case to trial.

Following a hearing in Los Angeles yesterday, her lawyer Donald Etra confirmed: "The District Attorney has advised me that she will be subpoenaed to testify. I will accept on her behalf. She will appear in court, and if asked to testify, she will do so."

Chris Brown insists he is "not a monster." The 20-year-old singer - who has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his on/off girlfriend Rihanna - has released a video thanking fans for their support and insisting many of the rumors circulating about him are untrue.

In the excerpt, posted on video sharing site YouTube, Chris says: "I just wanna say, 'What up?' because I ain't been out there in a minute. New album will be coming soon. We're working on it right now. Called "Graffiti." Got everything on it, know what I'm saying? I'll be ready for that.

Rihanna is not dating anyone. The "Umbrella" singer has been linked with a series of handsome famous men, including rapper Kanye West and Aubrey Graham, since splitting from Chris Brown - who is accused of assaulting her in February - but is happy to concentrate on her career for the moment.

A source said: "Rihanna needs the focus to be on her talents right now, not the bumps in her personal life. She doesn't want anything else to overshadow her career."

Rihanna has been seen "making out" with a rapper. The 'Rehab' singer was seen drinking whiskey and locking lips with former child actor-turned-rapper Aubrey 'Drake' Graham at New York's Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge on Monday.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "She was drinking whiskey and apple juice and making out with him all night. They were really cute together."

Rihanna has performed for the first time since she was allegedly assaulted by her on/off boyfriend Chris Brown. The "Rehab" singer - who was dressed in a black Dolce and Gabbana power suit - joined Kanye West on stage at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala in New York on Monday.

The pair performed a duet of Kanye's song "Say You Will" before Rihanna belted out an emotional rendition of her hit "Live Your Life."
