70's disco icon Chaka Khan's 26-year-old son, Damien Patrick Holland, was in court on a murder charge stemming from the September 24, 2004, shooting of 17-year-old Chris Bailey, who died after an argument at Damien's west L.A. home.
According to an insider, "Apparently it is love-triangle based, and it happened over a woman, and he allegedly murdered her boyfriend."
Chaka's son was arrested the day of the incident but released when prosecutors declined to file charges pending an investigation. He was later charged after detectives found witnesses.
Damien pleaded not guilty saying the incident was "accidental," Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner found enough evidence to send the case to trial. He is being arraigned on September 26th.
