Jim Carrey has revealed that his romance with Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy is the real deal.
The actor, who was linked to Renee Zellweger when she hit the A-list and was once married to Lauren Holly, is clearly smitten with his latest girlfriend.
The box-office draw card brought up McCarthy voluntarily during a press conference for his latest film, "The Number 23."
Carrey sported a large tattoo during production of the film, which he says excited his girl.
He revealed, "Jenny liked it! It was weird - it's amazing what a tattoo does for a girl."
The actor then continued to chat about McCarthy, praising their relationship. He said, "I feel that our relationship happened at a time that I am more ready than I have ever been in my life to have a relationship. We also encourage each other. We're both on the same path, so it's really - real."
Carrey, who has spent the past few years of his career making children's films such as "The Grinch," admitted that he is a hopeless romantic.
He said, "The only thing that has ever consumed me is love. Feeling like, 'What is it? How do I get it?' All of those things have consumed my mind from time to time."
Friend and director, Joel Schumacher, agreed with the star that this relationship is here to stay.
He said, "This is the happiest I've ever seen Jim, and we've been friends for a really long time...And I've seen you when you've been really suffering in love."
The love birds have enjoyed a relatively private courtship, attending rock concerts and going on va cations like regular couples.
