Carmen Electra finds relationships hard work. The former 'Baywatch' star, who got engaged to KoRn guitarist Rob Patterson in April after a whirlwind romance, doesn't want to take Rob for granted and is always keen to show her devotion to him.
She said: "You have to stay connected and make an effort. We're taking it slow and have no wedding date yet. We have been friends for eight years and even had one date a long time ago. We connect on a lot of different levels."
The 36-year-old actress also revealed she feels ready to have children, but is nervous about the responsibility of parenthood.
She added to People magazine: "Someday we probably will. Deep down, I feel like I'm ready. But it's a big commitment. I don't know."
At the moment, the couple is content with looking after their three dogs. Carmen said: "For now, we have Daisy, a Yorkshire Terrier, Keiko, a Pomeranian, and Roxy, a Maltese. We are very happy!"
Carmen has previously been married to NBA star Dennis Rodman and rocker Dave Navarro.
