Enough is Enough. Bruce Springsteen has gone online to set the record straight about his marriage being on the rocks. Contrary to what the tabloids have recently been reporting, the rocker says he is happily married and commited to his wife.
The "Born In The U.S.A" singer posted a message on his website Monday putting all the tabloid rumors about his alleged rocky 15 year marriage to wife Patti Scialfa-a singer and a member of his band-to rest.
"I hesitate to use this Website for anything personal believing it should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job," wrote the rocker.
"However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn't pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years-the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married."
According to E!Online, The New York Post reported last Thursday that the couple had split and were well on their way to divorce lane. The newspaper had also reported that Springsteen had an affair with a widow whose husband had been killed in 9/11 while putting together the telethon "America: A Tribute to Heroes."
But a "friend" of the couple rebutted such statements to the Post, saying the couple are "very much partners."
Springsteen met his wife when she was a backup singer for one of his tours in 1987. The couple got married in 1991 and have three children together.
