In Britney Spears' mind, there are other family members more deranged than she can be.
TMZ has released video footage showing erratic pop star Britney serving her mother with a letter, allegedly legal papers informing Lynn Spears that she cannot spend time with her grandchildren.
Apparently, as far as Britney is concerned, Lynn is unstable and therefore not a positive influence on the children. Lynn, who was Hollywood's most famous stage mother until Kathy Hilton and Dina Lohan came along, has been ill over the past few months and even spent time in the hospital.
The "Toxic" singer has had a heated relationship with her mom since she was sent to rehab. Britney is still convinced that she didn't need professional help - despite much evidence to the contrary - and has been forced to cut her mother out of her life.
TMZ reported, "We're told the letter bluntly asks Lynne to stay away from the children if she is taking any medications that would impair her ability to be around them. We're also told Spears has become super-protective of her kids and is taking back a lot of the control that others were exercising over her life."
In the past few weeks, while Paris Hilton was in jail and Lindsay Lohan is in rehab, Britney has taken over the L.A. club scene again. She has been spotted on numerous occasions gallivanting around in tiny and ill-fitted outfits, reportedly secretly having alcoholic drinks inside the bars.
Britney's family feared she would lose custody of her children the last time she went wild.
