Pop star Britney Spears may be having trouble getting custody of her own kids but there might be hope she would get custody of all of mankind.
The 26-year-old troubled singer is reportedly tapped to play Virgin Mary.
French producer Philippe Rebboah says Spears is a great choice to play the pregnant virgin who gives birth on Christmas Eve. The film entitled Sweet Baby Jesus is a satirical retelling of the nativity story.
"I had to convince my partners because they were like, 'Oh, no. Britney?" Rebboah says. "But I thought it was brilliant. It's a bit ironic that she would play the Virgin Mary, no?"
The producer also says that Spears already has the script and will make a decision within days. And when asked if the singer will take on the role, Rebboah says, "She likes the idea, that's what I heard."
Spears had just recently failed to show up at court-ordered deposition Wednesday morning for. Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ.com that the singer was suffering from an undisclosed illness.
No information on when the next deposition might take place. Kaplan reportedly will pursue a court sanction against Spears for failing to show up.
