Britney Spears is considering moving to New York. The "Womanizer" singer has reportedly spoken to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, who she has two sons with, about the prospect of leaving Los Angeles and relocating to the U.S. city.

A source told MSNBC: "Britney always toys with the idea of going to New York. Obviously there's no chance that is happening unless Kevin moves, too."

Britney, who has been meeting record bosses in New York this week, revealed she loves being in the city and regrets selling her apartment there.

She said: "Man, I wish I had my apartment here still. But I love New York City. The energy is crazy."

The blonde beauty wowed the crowds as she stepped out in a fitted black dress and diamond earrings to watch Broadway musical "In The Heights" on Wednesday night.

Earlier in the day, Britney's shopping spree attracted so many fans she was forced to retreat to her chauffeured car to escape the throng.

Last month, it was revealed the 26-year-old singer is selling her six-bedroom Malibu home for $7.9 million.

During her two years of living in the house, Britney was rushed to hospital twice. One incident saw police forcibly enter the property after she allegedly refused to hand over her sons, Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James, to their father.
