Britney Spears it out of rehab and seeking legal advice - for whatever reason.

After the troubled pop star checked out of California's Promises Malibu Treatment Center in the early hours of Wednesday because she found the regime "too tough," BritBrit met with criminal defense lawyer Blair Berk.

The 25-year-old, who is facing a custody battle with her estranged husband K-Fed for their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, spent an hour with Berk, who previously represented Mel Gibson when he was charged with drunk-driving.

Had the starlet stayed in rehab, her treatment program would have included hiking, art classes, yoga and horse riding. She would also have to answer 10 questions to convince the medical staff she was serious about getting help. It has still not been revealed what the singer was being treated for.

Her family has grown increasingly worried about her erratic behavior in recent weeks. Concerns were intensified after Britney decided to shave all her hair off last weekend. Her mother Lynne has now moved into Britney's Malibu home to look after her children.

This is the second time in a week BritBrit has left a rehab center after less than a day, following her brief visit to Eric Clapton's Crossroads Center in Antigua.
