The parents of the woman killed in a car accident involving Brandy have filed a lawsuit against the singer.
The December 30 crash in Los Angeles led to the death of Moroccan immigrant Awatef Aboudihaj after the R&B singer's Land Rover rear-ended her car.
Now, the family of the victim have filed a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against the former "Moesha" star.
The CHP also finished an investigation into the matter, advising the Los Angeles City Attorney's office to charge Brandy with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence.
According to the victim's husband, Hdidou Marouane, Aboudihaj was driving in between her two waitressing jobs when her car was hit.
Aboudihaj's parents, who have officially filed the suit, deny they are looking for money but want compensation.
Their lawyer, Lofty Mrich, told KCAL 9 television, "I don't think any amount of money that can be given to them will compensate them for such a loss. Be it Brandy Norwood or someone else ... the plaintiffs will seek the amount of damages that they believe is fair."
The singer's rep said in a statement, "The accident was a terrible tragedy and Brandy's heart goes out to Awatef Aboudihaj's family. But for legal reasons we cannot comment on this lawsuit."
If found guilty of manslaughter, Brandy could face a year prison sentence.
