| China has decided to censor the movie, "Memoirs of a Geisha", despite increased openness from the government in recent years and an appearance from two leading Chinese actresses. The decision from the Chinese government was made public last Wednesday; however, a specific reason has not yet been given. Most analysts have said that the censoring is a move by the government to control outside influences that have flooded the Chinese market since the country joined the World Trade Organization in 2001. | |
