Both Davids Stand Behind David Archuleta's Father

"American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta was a star during the show, but his father Jeff Archuleta took some heat for how he handled his son.

Jeff was said to have micromanaged his son's career during the show, and toward the end of the season he had his backstage passes revoked. Despite that, David has continued to say his dad is nothing but great.

Now another David is stepping up and saying the same thing. David Cook, who won this season of "Idol," said he has never seen Jeff be anything but a caring and loving father. Cook, 25, thinks the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. In fact, Cook is looking forward to Jeff joining the Idols on the tour bus for the American Idols Live! tour. The tour kicks of July 1 in Glendale, Arizona.

Young David has taken to writing on his MySpace blog recently, and even thanked his fans for wishing his dad a happy Father's Day.
