Betting on the Best Actress category for the Oscars this weekend has been halted and paid out at one betting agency, because the agent is absolutely positive Helen Mirren will win the title at Sunday's Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood.
U.K. bookie William Hill has paid out $65,000 to gamblers who believe Mirren will get the Best Actress spot at 1/66 odds.
A spokesperson for the company said that in their opinion, it's a done deal.
"Should the unimaginable occur and Dame Helen fails to win the Oscar, then she will have been robbed and so will we."
Ms. Mirren is vying for the Best Actress title against Meryl Streep, Penelope Cruz, and fellow Brits Kate Winslet and Judi Dench.
Other bookies are still taking bets on the Best Actress Category, but betting on Mirren holds extremely short odds - the best pays out at 1-33 at Paddy Poker, according to jackpot.co.uk.
Meryl Streep is pulling in 12-1 odds for her role in the Devil Wears Prada.
