James Bond has swapped his traditional sports car for a family friendly vehicle. For new movie 'Casino Royale', the film-makers have decided to ditch the secret agent's Aston Martin, and have instead opted for a Ford Mondeo - butinsist it will still be packed with gadgets.
An insider revealed to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It's a huge deal, worth far more than the considerable sum Daniel Craig is getting to play the spy. Moviegoers will see Bond using the car for chases and picking up girls." According to reports, manufacturers paid handsomely to get their caron screen. However, the car used for chase scenes will be a customized 140 mph model - rather than the usual model, popular with salesman and soccer moms.
The news comes just weeks after Craig confessed to filmmakers he didn't know how to drive Bond's classic Aston Martin DB5 - which will still feature in the movie.
Meanwhile, some fans of the franchise have already started an onlinepetition, www.craignotbond.com, to try and get movie bosses to ditch theblond 'Layer Cake' star - who won the role late last year after PierceBrosnan was axed.
