What began as an innocent call to an 11-year-old girl has resulted in a public war and a bodyguard. But that can happen when you call your daughter a "thoughtless little pig" and you are an international movie star.
The battle between Alec Baldwin and his ex-wife Kim Basigner is getting uglier and uglier. The tension seems to be bad enough for Oscar winner Kim to hire a bodyguard for her and daughter Ireland, according to Star magazine.
Since the phone call was made, the star ex-couple have been locked in a debate of he-said-she-said, while friends and sources defending each of the star's parenting skills.
Alec's hardworking spokesperson, Matthew Hiltzik, is enforcing Alec's pleas that he has been alienated from his child's life.
The rep said, "Alec truly cares about the best interests of his daughter."
A source close to Alec has added to the New York Post newspaper that it is Kim, not Alec, who is the dangerous parent. Kim is being accused to leading the voicemail tape to the public.
The insider said, "This is a desperate plea for sympathy when the only danger to the child is inside her own home. What kind of parent leaks a voicemail that causes her daughter significant embarrassment and unneeded attention?"
Alec and Kim have been fighting each other since their Hollywood marriage ended. Their divorce and custody battle has been one of the most bitter in Tinsel Town history.
