The biological father of pop superstar Madonna and director husband Guy Ritchie's adopted son is fighting for his visitation right to his son.
The power couple's 2-year-old adopted son David Banda has just been finalized in May after 20 months of being granted a temporary order that allowed them to take him away from the Malawian orphanage.
Farmer Yohane Banda, David's biological father, left him at the orphanage after his mother died in childbirth and he couldn't provide for him anymore. He was seven months old when he came into the center.
But now, Yahane is claiming the government officials promised him access to his son every three to four years as part of the adoption arrangement.
He is quoted by contactmusic.com as saying, "I love the boy and it was in his best interests to put him in the orphanage. Because I support the adoption I would not want to put up a challenge that would reverse it, but I might challenge some aspects of the order."
"I am discussing with my family about following up on having access to the child. We will not leave things the way they are - we will do something about it."
