Bindi Irwin Aspires To Become "Wildlife Warrior" Like Dad

Bindi Irwin has said she wants to become a "wildlife warrior" just like her late father Steve Irwin.

The eight-year-old animal lover - who is currently on a tour of the U.S. to promote her upcoming TV show - happily described some of the world's most dangerous animals as "sweet and gentle."

Bindi said on Friday, "I'm going to become a wildlife warrior just like my dad. Wild animals are so sweet and gentle. Crocodiles are such great mothers and snakes are just gorgeous."

Steve died aged 44 last September after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray's poisonous barb while he was filming his final documentary "Ocean's Deadliest" off the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

When asked if the launch of Bindi's own career was too soon, her mother Terri replied, "Grief is a road that each individual travels in their own way. For us to get right back up and be able to say that Steve's work counted for something has helped our family."

I've just began to watch your show. It's really great, and the animal I love best is the kangaroo. The wallybee and the kangaroo are similiar, but the kangaroo is bigger. I love animals too. i think steve has done a great job with the zoo i mean it was only a little reptile park and know it is the biggest torist atrcasion in the would well at lest i think. Hi Bindi
I have been watching your shows and how much you have missed your dad. I feel your pain because when I was watching the memorial show of your dad I was so sad I wanted to burst out crying but I was with my class and I would look dumb in front of them. On the first of September night I was watching your show and I felt sorry for you for what pain your in. In Bindi the Jungle girl you were talking about dogs and I loved the puppy you were holding.

When is someone going to speak what for many, is the truth? Steve Irwin was an accident waiting to happen, sorry, but its true. I know that I am going to get hammered for saying this, but it's high time someone put aside all the sentimental crap, and put things into perspective. O.K. , so his death was unfortunate, but not wholly unexpected, he took so many liberties with WILD animals its a wonder he lived to see 14, let alone 44.
To wantonly promote an eight year old child , well.I don,t even want to go there! Playing on peoples sympathies, how low can the Irwin's publicity machine go?
