Beyonce has a reason to celebrate even though she wasn't in attendance to receive her prize.
The 25-year old won a bunch of awards at the MOBOs Awards show on Wednesday night. The dazzling, fashionable singer was named Best International Female and her single "Deja vu" won Best Song and Best Video at the ceremony, which recognizes music of black origin.
Her rapper fiance Jay-Z, who collaborated on the award-winning track, scooped Best International Male.
Although both Beyonce and Jay-Z were in London, the couple didn't attend the event, which was at the Royal Albert Hall and hosted by rapper Coolio.
Corinne Bailey Rae was the top choice for British talent. The 27-year-old singer, who flew back from her U.S. tour to attend the ceremony, collected awards for Best UK Female and Best UK Newcomer.
The "Put Your Records On" singer, who performed a 40s-inspired medley, released her debut album just six months ago.
Lemar was named Best UK Male, his third MOBO award in two years, while the Black Eyed Peas won Best Group.
Ms Dynamite's younger brother Akala surprisingly beat Busta Rhymes and Kanye West to win Best Hip-Hop - despite not having a record deal.
The 22-year-old rapper - who has won critical acclaim for his refreshing rhymes about Shakespeare, the congestion charge and gun crime - recently said, "Modern American hip-hop is garbage. Rap has not got respect as an intellectual entity. Great rappers are literary geniuses."
