| The William Morris Agency has announced that it has signed former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice as a client. The former professor has been in the Bush administration since its beginning but her appointment ended Tuesday afternoon when Barack Obama was sworn in as president. There was much competition to try and nab Rice as a client. She was very thorough about the process and ultimately her goal was to choose the agency she would feel most comfortable with, speaking on her behalf. | |
| Mariah Carey was left "furious" after being told she wouldn't be sitting with U.S. President Barack Obama's family during his inauguration. The "Touch My Body" singer - who performed at a ball to celebrate Obama being sworn in - was left aghast when she discovered she had to sit with other celebrities during Tuesday's ceremony. | |
| Britain's Queen Elizabeth has sent a message of support to Barack Obama. The monarch sent her good wishes in private correspondence to the new U.S. president - the 12th to lead America in her reign - but the exact words have not been released. Since becoming queen in 1952, she has met every U.S. president apart from Lyndon Johnson. | |
| Halle Berry began "frantically screaming" when her dress got caught in an escalator on Tuesday. The brunette beauty was on her way to the Western Ball to celebrate U.S. President Barack Obama's inauguration when her flowing frock got stuck, causing widespread "panic." A source said: "Halle was on her way to the ball, but she was looking lost and confused in the crowd of people. She stepped onto the escalator and the long train of her dress got caught, causing a scene of panic." | |
| Rachel McAdams is dating Josh Lucas. The "Wedding Crashers" actress has moved on from former beau Ryan Gosling - with who she had a lengthy on-off relationship after they fell in love on the set of 2004 movie "The Notebook" - and into the arms of notorious ladies' man Josh. The new couple were spotted canoodling at the Purple Ball, which was held to celebrate President Barack Obama's inauguration, on Tuesday, and left onlookers in no doubt they are an item. | | | |
