Russell Crowe has written a gushing tribute to his young sons - which he will bury in a time capsule.

The Hollywood star has expressed his love for Charlie, three, and Tennyson, one, in an emotional note which he plans to bury in a capsule for 25 years.

Crowe writes: "Our lives have been blessed by you. Whatever comes along, I will always love you with my whole being and soul."

The 43-year-old actor has been married to Australian singer-and-actress Danielle Spencer for four years, and his note urges their sons to always take care of her.

He says: "I know I will have brought you up to love your mother above all. My hope is that you find the things, people and love that bring you joy. Every day of my life is better because I am a father."

Crowe has previously spoken of his desire to be the perfect father.

He said: "Every decision that I make depends on what's right for my wife Danielle and my two young boys, Tennyson and Charles."
