If the reports are true that Nicole Richie is pregnant, jail time is probably a very scary prospect for the starlet.
Like her BFF Paris Hilton, Nicole could be put in prison over a DUI charge she received in February. "The Simple Life" star was driving the wrong way down a freeway when she was pulled over and admitted to smoking marijuana and taking vicodin before getting behind the wheel.
Nicole appeared on David Letterman's talk show on Wednesday, where she was probed about the possibility of jail. She said, "I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, of course. I'm scared also but I'm willing to face whatever consequences come my way and I take responsibility for what I've done."
The star, who is fighting rehab rumors, continued, "I really try and take everything that I go through as a life lesson and I try not to make the same mistake twice."
However, DUIs are nothing new for Nicole. She has previously been arrested for driving under the influence during her heroin days before she became a tabloid star.
But she says that like any other normal girl in her 20s, she is making some mistakes.
Nicole told David, "I can't really speak for anyone else but me. I'm 25 and I'm still growing up and I've made some bad choices, just like anyone I'm sure. So now I just have to deal with the consequences. Of course, jail is a not a great consequence but I brought it on myself."
If Nicole is put in jail, she could be spending her first trimester there. The reports are growing that the tiny star is pregnant.
Despite counter claims that she is anorexic, Nicole's camp has not denied that she is expecting a baby with boyfriend Joel Madden.
A source told Life And Style Weekly magazine, "Nicole recently underwent a series of tests, including blood and urine screenings, which confirmed she is pregnant...Nicole's determined to get healthy for her own sake and the baby's."
With evidence that she weighs a tiny 83 pounds, Nicole's frame possibly could not carry a baby. However, gossips are pointing out a small baby bump is visible through her designer clothes.
Maybe Nicole being pregnant is more believable than bloating after eating a meal?
