Immigration officials in Sydney are keeping Snoop Dogg's visit very brief because of his outstanding drug charges in Burbank, California.
Dogg flew to Australia for Saturday's Good Vibrations Concert in Melbourne and then to Brisbane for the Sunday festival. On Monday, he flew to Sydney to film MTV's top-secret project at the Ruby Rabbit nightclub that should have been filmed in December, but was cancelled because of his drug bust, according to News.com.
Dogg had just finished "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," when the Burbank Police stopped him, searched his vehicle, and discovered marijuana, cocaine, a firearm, and a false compartment. This was his third arrest.
Also, prior to this charge, during a search at Orange County airport, it is alleged that a collapsible baton was found in Dogg's luggage. His attorneys deny this weapon allegation.
As a teen and former member of the Long Beach, CA Crips gang, Dogg is no stranger to police stations or jail. It was because of Dogg's musical talent, that the gang prodded him from hustler to rapper.
In 1993, Snoop Dogg's first album, "Doggystyle," hit the No, 1 spot. Two songs off the album, "Who Am I (What's My Name)?" and "Gin and Juice" became two of the ten most played songs in the U. S.
