Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz welcomed their first child together into the world Thursday evening.

The 24-year-old singer - who married Pete, 29, in May - gave birth to 7lb 11oz son Bronx Mowgli late Thursday night at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a representative for the couple has confirmed.

Ashlee Simpson has been trying "different foot massages" to induce labor. The 24-year-old pop star - who is expecting her first child with husband Pete Wentz - is so desperate to give birth she has been testing out a variety of treatments which are said to bring on the labor process.

Ashlee's sister Jessica told U.S. TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres Monday: "She has been trying different foot massages and stuff. I don't know. I think she's really just jumping around trying everything right now."

Ashlee Simpson reportedly went into labor with her first child over the weekend.

The "Little Miss Obsessive" singer's husband, Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz, was said to have texted his friends on Friday night telling them the happy news that he and Ashlee would soon be welcoming their first child into the world.

The "Outta My Head" singer - who is due to give birth to her first child later this month - celebrated with 35 guests, including singer-and-actress sister Jessica Simpson, her mother Tina, actress Emmy Rossum and Nicole Richie, who brought her 10-month-old daughter Harlow.

Heavily pregnant Ashlee Simpson wants all rooms she is in set at a constant icy temperature. The U.S. singer's husband, Fall Out Boy bass player Pete Wentz, says Ashlee feels so hot all the time she has to have all rooms set to 34 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pete, 29, said: "She's hot all the time. She's like, 'I wish I was in Canada right now.' Our room temperature is set to like, 34 degrees. It's insane!"

Ashlee Simpson threw a "white-trash" themed birthday party. The pregnant singer, who is married to Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz, celebrated turning 24 with a fancy dress bash at her parents' Los Angeles home last weekend.

One guest revealed: "It had a white-trash theme. Ashlee wore Daisy Duke hot-pants and platform flip-flops with a bathing suit and a fake tattoo around her belly."
