Actress Angelina Jolie would have never adopted daughter Zahara had she known her biological mother was still alive, her brother James Haven reveals.
Haven stressed that his sister was oblivious to the fact that her Ethiopian daughter's mother, Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, was still alive when she adopted her in 2005. She thought she's an orphan because of what the paperwork stated.
"Angelina has a rule that she adopts children only when they are orphans. I think adoption becomes complicated whenever the biological parents are alive," Haven tells British magazine Grazia.
Meanwhile, Lebiso recently cleared reports that she wanted her child back.
"I have never disputed the adoption. I have no ill feelings towards her. I think my daughter is a very fortunate human being to be adopted by a world-famous lady. I wish them all the success they both deserve," she says.
