Lily Allen wept for Britain's Princess Diana when she attended her funeral as a 12-year-old girl. The "Smile" singer, who was still a schoolgirl when Diana was killed in a Paris car crash in 1997, was taken to watch the princess' funeral procession in London by her actor father Keith Allen.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "I was shocked to see Keith standing next to me with his kids at the funeral.
"Some reporters tried to talk to him but he told them it was a private moment. As the coffin passed, Lily was quite upset."
It was confirmed last week that 22-year-old Lily was set to join the line-up for the Concert for Diana on July 1.
The feisty pop star joins a host of performers set to feature in the commemorative show, including Natasha Bedingfield, Rod Stewart, Kanye West, Sir Elton John and Take That.
The star-studded event has been organized by Diana's sons Princes William, 24, and Harry, 22. The royal brothers have been planning the tribute show since last year, to coincide with the tenth anniversary of their mother's death.
