Amy Winehouse will remain married at least until May. The reported divorce her husband Blake Fielder-Civil has been planning can't proceed until they have celebrated their first anniversary, according to British law.

"Under English law, no divorce proceedings could be commenced until a year has passed since the date of the marriage," a law expert in London says.

The couple - who were been married in Miami, Florida in May - is still bound by their country's marital laws and thus, would not be allowed to divorce until May. An incarcerated Fielder-Civil is threatening to file for freedom from his famous wife, as revealed by Winehouse's father Mitch.

"Blake threatened to issue divorce proceedings when they were having a row," the dad said to Grazia magazine. "He has said things like, 'I want a divorce.'"

It was reported that while he is in jail for perverting the course of justice, Winehouse had spent the holiday in the Caribbean with ex boyfriend George Roberts and partied with friend Mark Ronson, which did not sit well with the Fielder-Civil.
