Amy Winehouse may not have full blow emphysema, only a scarring of the lungs that could lead to the disease, but that didn't keep the British singer from smoking when she was released from the hospital.

The 24-year-old, who has been hospitalized for a week, checked out of the hospital for a few hours Monday to practice for her upcoming performance at Nelson Mandela's birthday concert. During that time, she was spotted smoking a cigarette.

The singer also stopped to shop for a pair of her trademark ballet shoes.

Despite the cigarettes, the concert organizers said they were happy with the singer's rehearsal. A rep for Winehouse, Chris Goodman, talked about her rehearsal and upcoming performance saying, "Doctors have to give it the final sign off, but it went well," he adds. "She will really enjoy it - she always does."
