Amy Winehouse has set up a $20,000 recording studio in her home. The "Rehab" singer reportedly wants to be away from the paparazzi so she installed her own work place in her North London apartment.
Winehouse, 24, was allegedly encouraged by her parents to set up the home studio to concentrate on her singing career. This will hopefully lessen the chance of distraction caused by her friends and photographers.
A source says, "Amy's family have warned her that now she's on the mend, this is one way she will be able to get her life completely on track. They've had a hellish time watching her descend into a shadow of her former self due to addition."
Her divorced parents, Mitch and Janis, hope that she can concentrate on her music with the new set up, and also a healthier group of friends will surround her this time.
The source continues, "Although they realize $20,000 for a home studio is a lot of money, they know she faces less chance of being distracted by her former friends who did little to prevent her public decline if she's working a thome."
"This is why you will see Amy clearing out her flat with her pal Tyler - who is a good influence on her - because she is getting ready to install all the equipment."
