Amy Winehouse has defended her dangerous and chaotic lifestyle.

The British singer has been reportedly suffering from drug and alcohol addiction for most of 2007.

However, Amy told OK! magazine that she believes that alcohol, not drugs, is the real demon in her life.

She said, "Drinking long-term is a lot worse than doing heroin. Alcohol's a real poison. If I go to the gym and have a drink I'm lovely to be around. But if I haven't been training or if there's something bothering me, I'm a terrible drunk."

The "Rehab" singer has admitted that she is following the lyrics for her hit song and saying "no, no, no" to professional treatment.

She said, "If you can't sort something out for yourself then no one can help you,' she says. I don't know whether that's because I'm a strong woman."
