American Idol season one finalist was singing with joy over the weekend as she got married in a beautiful outdoor setting. Tamyra Gray married songwriter and producer Sam Watters in Italy on Saturday. The couple have been dating for two years.
According to People magazine, the 27-year old singer married her 36-year old beau on a cliff next to the ocean, in front of 45 guests. After they said their "I Dos," the couple had locals peering outside their windows and cheering for them as they walked through the city together.
The two lovebirds got engaged earlier this year, on Valentine's Day, when Tamyra was proposed to with an antique diamond engagement ring, which had a platinum setting.
Tamyra has been keeping herself busy since her days on American Idol in 2002. She was bitten by the acting bug shortly thereafter and had a recurring role on Boston Public in 2003. She released an album, "The Dreamer," in 2004, but did a couple more acting gigs the following year. In 2005, she made a guest appearance on NBC's Last Vegas and appeared in Indie film, "The Gospel."
Some may remember her husband Watters from early '90s R&B group Color me Badd, with their hit "I Wanna Sex You Up."
Since shedding his boy band image, Watters has been working behind the scenes with his partner Louis Biancaniello, writing and producing songs for female superstars like Jessica Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, and Celine Dion.
