Most performers have a past with a few skeletons in their closet and "American Idol" contestant David Hernandez seems to be among those. The Idol singer, who will perform Tuesday night, reportedly worked for three years at a male strip club as a dancer.
According to the manager of Dick's Cabaret in Phoenix, Arizona, Hernandez worked at the establishment for three years and made good money because he had the look people like.
Fans of Hernandez, who appears to be one of the top male contenders for the Idol slot, are sticking with their man claiming they don't care what he did they just care that he can sing.
"American Idol" has been wishy-washy in the past about their contestants appearing nude prior to Idol. In 2003, finalist Frenchie Davis was removed from the running when it was revealed her picture appeared on an adult Website. Although last year, the show allowed Antonella Barba to stay on despite racy photos of the singer that appeared on the Internet.
The men compete again Tuesday night in hopes of securing a spot in the top 12.
