Amanda Peet and her husband have started a family.
It's been confirmed that Amanda gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday.
The "Syriana" star was scheduled to attend the Georg Jensen Cave diamond jewelry collection launch dinner on Tuesday night in Los Angeles but cancelled after going into labor.
A source said, "She went into labor and was rushed to the hospital."
Her representative confirmed the birth but refused to give any further details.
Peet and the baby's father, "Troy" screenwriter David Benioff, dated for four years before marrying last September.
The baby, which the couple had announced would be a girl, was due on March 7.
Peet, who turned 35 last month, is currently starring in the TV show "Studio 60" with former "Friends" actor Matthew Perry.
