The Canadian singer, Alanis Morissette and the "'Just Friends" star, Ryan Reynolds, who first met at Drew Barrymore's birthday party in 2002 have decided to call time on their relationship of almost four years.
The pair got engaged in 2004, but never set a date for their wedding. Morissette claimed the reason was because they were "really enjoying" their engagement.
It is not yet known why the pair decided to split up, and representatives for both stars have refused to comment on the break-up so far.
Before the split, the "Ironic" singer claimed the reason the relationship was so successful was because they were both Canadian.
Morissette said, "We already started off with the shorthand, so I think it's a really great base. I attempted dating many American men. I really tried!"
