Friends say the split was mutual and the couple - who recently appeared in a Valentine's Day-themed photo shoot for Vogue magazine - are keen to stay friends.

Dame Helen Mirren has a crush on Russell Brand. The 63-year-old actress was flattered by Russell's recent flirtatious praise for her and has returned the compliment.
