Sarah Michelle Gellar, best known for her role as Buffy Summers in the acclaimed television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," wants to be a positive role model to her fans. The 30-year-old star insists that the media should not keep their focuses on young stars gaining notoriety for their wild partying ways, but rather highlight industry people doing valuable work in society.
"I take being a role model very seriously. If I'm able to help or lend my support to something because I'm in a position where people look up to me, then it's my responsibility to appreciate and honor that. It's certainly not something I take lightly," the Emmy-award winning actress said.
The "Scooby-Doo" actress says the current trend in the media to publicize apparently not-so-good tactics followed by young stars upsets her.
"It makes me sad. There are actually so many people who are doing wonderful things and being good role models but because it doesn't make an interesting story people aren't aware of it," she said.
