Twelve-year-old and cute-as-a-button actress Dakota Fanning will receive an award that was last bestowed on director Steven Spielberg.

The Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation is giving Fanning the 2006 "Heart of Gold Award" on March 31.

Her "Dreamer" co-star Elisabeth Shue will present the award, which honors Fanning for her commitment to helping others.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis will host the organization's annual "A Stellar Night" gala.

Starlight Starbright is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help seriously ill children and their families.
