Prince Azim of Brunei has given shamed 'Celebrity Big Brother' star Jade Goody a $6 million diamond ring.
The prince and Jade - who famously started an international race row earlier this year with her racist remarks to Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty on the Channel 4 reality show - have formed an unlikely friendship after meeting on the London party circuit.
Jade, 26, told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "I have become quite friendly with the Prince of Brunei. He wanted to meet me, we met and got on like a house on fire. He gave me a ring and it is huge, full of diamonds.
"He said, 'Take this'; I was like, 'I can't'. I haven't got it valued yet but he had one that was very similar and that is worth Ł3million.
"The prince is just an amazing friend. We go round to his house, he's wicked."
The prince and Jade are so close they are now considering working on a TV project in the US.
The prince's spokesman, Jeff Allen, said: "He met up with Jade a few times - once for dinner and another time to go to a club."They get on very well as they have the same sense of humour. They are looking into working on a few TV projects together in the US."
The prince - the second son of the Sultan of Brunei - is heir to a Ł20 billion fortune and fourth in line to the throne of Brunei, a tiny independent state on the island of Borneo in South-East Asia.
Prince Azim is a good friend of singer Mariah Carey, who he also treated to a Ł3million ring and Michael Jackson attended his 25th birthday party this summer.
