It seems the hip-hop community is eager to combine their rapping beats with the music of Sir Elton John. 50 Cent recently revealed he wants to record a duet with the phenomenal music star.
The hip-hop star is a huge fan of the flamboyant singer and has revealed he was scheduled to collaborate with him shortly after Elton's performance with Eminem, 50's close friend, at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
The proposed collaboration never took place, but the "In Da Club" rapper insists he is still very eager to work with Elton.
"Elton has incredible talent. He was meant to come out and record some stuff with me but it didn't happen," he said.
It seems 50 may get his wish, as Elton is desperate to record a hip-hop album. Earlier this week, the singer revealed he wants to collaborate with a host of rap artists on his latest album. However, although Elton name-checked a host of top hip-hop artists he wants to work with, including Kanye West and Pharrell Williams, he failed to mention 50's name.
He told Rolling Stone magazine, "I want to work with Pharrell, Timbaland, Snoop Dogg, Kanye and Eminem and see what happens. It may be a disaster, it may be fantastic but you don't know until you try. I want to bring my songs and melodies to hip-hop beats."
